Furthermore, when installing the chain, the loose edge should have a suitable initial sag. The initial sag is about 1% to 2% of the center distance of the sprocket. When adjusting the chain, it is necessary to meet the normal tension of the chain in the three-axis and one-line position. If the chain is too tight, it will lead to poor transmission, increase power consumption, accelerate the wear of the chain and sprocket, and easily cause the chain to break, and even cause an accident. If the chain is too loose, there will be abnormal noise when driving, the vibration will increase, and there is a danger of the chain falling.
It is best to use special lubricating oil for chain or No. 30 and No. 40 mechanical oil to lubricate the chain, or SAE90 gear oil can be used instead. Oil with a higher viscosity must be used. If the viscosity is too small, the lubricating oil will splash to various parts of the car body when the vehicle is running, which will affect the appearance of the car, soil the trousers, and the lubrication effect is not good. When replacing a new chain, it should be noted that the chain comes in two packaging forms: one is wax-sealed and the other is pre-lubricated. The so-called pre-lubrication means that the chain is immersed in lubricating oil before leaving the factory.
The above two processes are mainly for rust prevention and easy storage. The latter can be installed and used directly after opening the package, while the former should be waxed first, cleaned with diesel oil, and then immersed in oil again. When injecting lubricating oil, not only the oil should be injected on the surface of the chain, but also the oil should be immersed in the gap between the pivot shaft and the inner and outer chain plates, so as to achieve the purpose of lubrication.
