About W2 Split Taper Bushing

CTS® W2 Split Bushing

The W2 split taper bushing is the largest size we offer, for the biggest drives in heavy industry — large gearboxes, crushers and mills, paper machines, mine hoists, cement and sugar plants.

Four 3/4" cap screws at 3,000 in-lbs — the strongest mounting in the split taper system — stock bores from 3-3/8" up to 7-7/16", and a 133 lb cast iron body whose deep hub spreads the load and resists fretting under shock and reversing loads. It mounts the largest split taper pulleys, sprockets, and weld-on hubs, and it is a standard size in the Browning-style system: direct interchange with Browning W2 and Martin W2.

What is the difference between the W1 and W2 split taper bushings?

The W2 is the long, maximum-capacity member of the W family: it carries the widest stock bore range in the CTS split taper line (to 7-7/16") and the strongest mounting — four 3/4" cap screws at 3,000 in-lbs.

What bore sizes can the W2 be supplied with?

Stock bores are 3-3/8" to 6-3/16" (Type 1) and 6-1/4" to 7-7/16" (Type 2). Custom bores and keyways can be machined to order.
